Position Summary
J.M. Huber Corporation, an innovative manufacturing company, seeks a personable and highly motivated intern to support the Corporate Communications team with developing a Huber style guide and glossary. As part of the summer internship program, this intern will have the chance to work with experienced Communications professionals, gain real-world and cross-functional experience, develop professional skills and expand their network. Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Work with the Communications team to create a Huber Style Guide that helps all internal stakeholders maintain consistency, clarity and professionalism in all communications materials.
- Collaborate with the Communications team to devise a Huber Glossary, which provides a standardized framework for language usage across the organization.
- Help to draft, edit and design engaging content for internal communications, internal events, etc. as needed across Huber’s diverse portfolio of businesses.
- Review and edit materials created by other team members.
- Support communications efforts for internal initiatives (I Belong at Huber, Huber Helps, etc.) as needed.
- Support design and development of new intranet pages and draft training documents to boost employees’ intranet engagement.
- Assist with maintaining and updating content for office digital screens and Huber’s photo collection.
- Assist in the management of social media platforms.
- May perform other duties as needed.
Education, Specialized Knowledge & Required Skills
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or similar field of study
- Able to commit to an 8-12 week internship period beginning May 28, 2024
- Able to work a hybrid work schedule with some days in our Atlanta, GA office and some days from home each week
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills
- Keen eye for detail
- Versatility, adaptability and a willingness to work in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
- Self-starter with the ability to learn quickly, work well independently and in a team environment, and deliver on assignments with deadlines
- Familiarity with social media platforms, especially LinkedIn and Facebook
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint) and Zoom
- Experience using Adobe editing products (Illustrator, InDesign and/or Photoshop) and project management tools (Monday.com, Podio, Asana or others) are a plus
- Basic videography and photography skills are a plus
