The Orthopedic Center Clinical Coordinator is a Registered Nurse who is responsible for promoting optimal orthopedic care, through clinical activities, professional and public education, research activities, administrative functions, and quality improvement activities. The Orthopedic Center Clinical Coordinator is responsible maintaining all aspects of The Joint Commission Disease-Specific Care Certification in Joint Replacement and also the American Joint Replacement Registry Accreditation. Close communication with these groups allows the coordinator to function as a stabilizing force in the multidisciplinary care required by the Orthopedic patients. The Orthopedic Center Clinical Coordinator will track the progress of the program and identify areas that require attention. Will be responsible for all program management, report generation and review, process improvement, patient satisfaction, facilities review, budget (if required) and administrative activities related to the Orthopedic Center.
Education and Work Experience
1. Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor of Science, preferred.
2. Licensure/Certification: Current licensure by the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners.
3. BLS (AHA) Certification upon hire and maintain current.
4. ACLS (AHA) Certification hire or within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
5. Experience: Minimum of three years’ experience in Medical-Surgical Nursing, Orthopedic experience and experience with patient/staff education preferred.
6. Behavior Violence Prevention Training within 60 days of hire.
