OLI is the world leader in electrolyte simulation technology for the chemical process industry (), and we’re growing! We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Government Grant Procurement Associate to join our team.
The role requires in-depth knowledge of the grant procurement process and strong research skills. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for learning, an entrepreneurial spirit, persistence, and a strong history of collaborative work.
This individual will report to the CFO while working cross-functionally with other leadership and staff.
What OLI Does OLI is a software development and consulting firm specializing in modeling and process simulation and related services. Currently the OLI portfolio of products and services for water chemistry-based process modeling is used by engineers in over 35 countries across 500 organizations including enterprises, research organizations and academia to optimize process design across oil and gas, power generation, metals and mining, water treatment, sustainability, and chemicals industries.
We continue to harness our deep domain expertise and actively invest in next-generation capabilities to enable real-time, electrolyte chemistry-based insights for the industrial digital transformation with increased automation, cloud enabled platforms, analytics, and AI.
Responsibilities This opportunity is ideal for a dedicated and results-driven individual with a passion for securing government grants to support impactful initiatives. You will play a key role in helping to identify, apply for, and manage government grants to support our organization's objectives.
As a critical member of the Finance & Operations team, you’ll also support commercial contract compliance and client relationship management throughout the procurement process. Specifically, you will:
Grant Identification and Research: - Conduct thorough research to assist our team in identifying government grant opportunities relevant to the organization's goals and initiatives
- Stay informed about government funding programs, eligibility criteria, and application processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and ensure alignment between grant activities and organizational objectives
Proposal Development: - Help our technical teams prepare compelling and well-researched grant proposals that align with organizational objectives
- Collaborate with leaders and subject matter experts to gather necessary information for grant applications
Application Submission: - Ensure timely, accurate submission of grant applications, adhering to all specified guidelines and requirements
- Monitor and track the progress of submitted applications and follow up as needed
- Coordinate communication within OLI to ensure all stakeholders are aware of all applied for project details for project planning and financial projection purposes
Compliance and Reporting: - Stay current on regulations, compliance requirements, best practices, and trends re: government grants
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure adherence to grant terms and conditions
- Prepare and submit required financial and compliance reports to funding agencies, detailing the use and impact of grant funds
- Identify opportunities for process improvement in grant procurement and management
Relationship Management: - Establish and maintain positive relationships with government agencies, grant-making organizations, and other relevant stakeholders
- Communicate effectively with funding entities to address inquiries and provide necessary information
Budgeting and Financial Oversight: - Work with the Finance and Leadership teams to develop accurate and realistic budgets for grant proposals
- Monitor budgets, ensuring proper allocation/expenditure of funds in accordance with grant agreements
Commercial Business Support: - Partner with various departments, including legal, finance, procurement, and project management, to ensure a coordinated approach to contract management
- Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on contractual matters
- Manage relationships with vendors and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and delivery of goods/services as specified
- Evaluate and process requests for contract modifications or amendments, ensuring that changes are documented, communicated, and implemented appropriately
Requirements: Education - Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Business Administration, Public Administration, etc.)
Experience - 5+ years’ related experience, with a record of success in government grant procurement and management
- Strong understanding of government funding programs and regulations
- Excellent analytical skills; demonstrated proficiency in Excel and web-based tools
- Proficient in grant management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Competency in project management, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

- Ability to work independently, set appropriate work priorities, and require minimal supervision
- Must be organized, attentive to detail, and possess a positive, friendly, and professional demeanor
