Job description
Job Summary: The Onboarding Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and managing the process of welcoming new team members into GSI. This includes coordinating orientation, training, and other activities to ensure that new hires have a positive and productive start.
Essential Functions for this role:
- Managing all new hire communications and follow-up.
- Developing and implementing onboarding plans and procedures in collaboration with critical stakeholders.
- Coordinating new hire onboarding tasks in required systems and in some cases with paper.
- Planning and organizing orientation sessions in collaboration with critical stakeholders.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of new hires and onboarding activities.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies which include but are not limited to running background checks and pre-employment drug screens.
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure new hires have the resources and support they need to be successful in their roles.
- Continuously improving the onboarding process to ensure it is efficient and effective for new hires and the company.
- Support P&T staff with ongoing projects as assigned by the Talent Development Leader.
- Attend critical meetings and participate where beneficial to the success of the team or process.

- Demonstrated strong organization and project management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in person, via email and text and in formal written situations.
- Demonstrated ability to assess priorities and act according to level of confidentiality.
- Demonstrated ability using Microsoft Office tools Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint to a lesser degree.
- Demonstrated willingness to learn internal systems.
Job Qualifications
- B achelor's degree preferred, substantive work experience may be substituted.
- M inimum of 1-2 years of experience in human resources, employee relations, or a related field.
Key Performance Indicators
- All new hires onboarding begins within 24 hrs of recruiting process completion.
- All pre-employment drug testing and background checks started within 24 hrs of recruiting process completion.
- Ensure that 100% of all new hires attend a new hire orientation within 30 days of start.
Work Environment
- Hybrid- Three days in the office each week
- Cubical – Long-term assignment will be in a cubical/pod setting while using public private spaces for confidential interactions.
- Schedule – Workdays are generally 8 hours, M-F, with occasional overtime and weekend requirements.
