UnityPoint Health - Sioux City provides coordinated clinic, hospital, and home-based care for patients in Sioux City and the surrounding Siouxland area. St. Luke’s offers a full range of services and programs that includes a state-of-the-art surgical center, Siouxland’s premier birth center, 24/7 cardiovascular care, and Level III emergency department. In addition, UnityPoint Health - Sioux City is also home to St. Luke’s College which provides high-quality, health system-based education to individuals looking for careers in health care.
Overview
- Established practice

- Pediatric Subspecialty Support: Pediatric Radiology, Pediatric Cardiology, Pediatric Infectious Disease, Neonatology.
- Other support: General Surgery, Orthopedics and many other subspecialties available for consultation
- 12-bed pediatric inpatient unit with brand-new remodel
- Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on Epic EMR to improve care coordination
- Affiliated with a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital
- Average daily census of 5-7 in summer and 7-10 in winter (combination of newborn nursery and inpatient)
- Round on unassigned newborns in newborn nursery (no NICU or Level 2 nursery responsibilities), circumcisions, ED and direct admissions of pediatric age patients, ED consultation when requested
- No delivery attendance required. High risk deliveries are attended by in house NICU.
- Tertiary hospitals located 90 miles North and South with visiting subspecialists
- Average 10 shifts per month in 3-4 day increments with balanced weekend and holiday coverage
- In house hours from 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. On-call taken on a 1:3 rotation 3-4 shifts at a time with in-house Family Practice Resident coverage.
- Flexibility in schedule exists within group
- Opportunities for QI initiatives, hospital committee involvement and advanced Epic certifications if desired
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve
- Provide the best outcome for every patient every time
- MD or DO
- Board Certified/Eligible
- Hold an unrestricted license to practice medicine in Iowa
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Ability to work as a team member
