Job description

Position Overview: As a Civil CAD Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our civil engineering projects by creating accurate and detailed technical drawings using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. The ideal candidate will have experience in civil engineering drafting, knowledge of industry standards, and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams.

Responsibilities:

1. CAD Drafting for Civil Engineering Projects: Produce detailed civil engineering drawings, including site plans, grading plans, utility plans, and profiles using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D). Ensure drawings adhere to industry standards and project specifications.  
2. Collaboration: Work closely with civil engineers and project managers to understand project requirements and objectives. Incorporate design changes and updates into drawings based on feedback.  
3. Quantity Takeoffs: Assist in the preparation of quantity takeoffs and material estimates from civil engineering drawings. Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate and comprehensive takeoff data.  
4. Quality Control: Review and verify the accuracy of civil engineering drawings, identifying and correcting errors or discrepancies. Ensure compliance with regulatory and permitting requirements.  
5. Documentation:
   Organize and maintain project files, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date.
   Prepare and update drawings to reflect design changes and project updates.
   

Qualifications:

1. Education: Associate degree or certification in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field.  
2. Experience: Proven experience as a Civil CAD Technician in a civil engineering or related industry. Familiarity with Civil 3D and other relevant CAD tools.  
3. Technical Proficiency:
   Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, with a focus on civil engineering applications.
   Familiarity with civil engineering design principles and standards.
