Job description

Eaton is seeking a Director, Talent Management and Organization Effectiveness (TMOE) - Corporate Functions reporting directly to the SVP, Human Resources and based out of our administrative headquarters in Beachwood, OH. As an experienced practitioner and subject matter expert, the Director will lead change management and organizational design across several enterprise-wide transformations. You will create, implement, and drive all aspects of the corporate talent management strategy, including (but not limited to) development programs that support over 10,000 Eaton employees globally. You will collaborate with professionals at varying levels across the enterprise to ensure organizational alignment and lead critical talent initiatives that result in successful business outcomes.

Position Overview:

Provide Functional Leadership

• Lead a confirmed talent strategy leveraging effective talent management and organizational effectiveness initiatives

• Partner with senior leadership to align and deploy plans to build organizational and functional capability.

• Collaborate to design Eaton processes that deliver solutions needed to optimize talent management and enhance organizational effectiveness.

Drive Talent Management

• Design and manage talent management strategies and processes that align, attract, develop, engage, and retain talent.

• Lead succession management practices including talent reviews and Eaton’s annual Organization Capability Assessment (OCA) process for the region to strengthen the talent pipeline. Assist leaders with the creation of action plans and monitor actions to drive progress.

• Measure and track progress of talent, including development and action plans tied to specific talent development programs.

• Manage top talent pools and generate candidate slates for consideration for senior roles.

• Accelerate successful leader transitions through preparation, communication, development tools / resources and coaching for successful leader transitions.

• Define and/or deploy solutions to address leader development needs to support Eaton’s vision, aspirational goals, leadership attributes and brand promise.

• Develop approaches to build organizational capability through development planning activities such as targeted assignments, planned career moves, experiential learning, special assignments, executive coaching / feedback, and development programs.

• Partner to execute programs to identify, assess, develop, and accelerate the readiness of early-career talent.

Lead Organization Effectiveness

• Conduct organizational assessments and diagnostics for leader, team, and organization development needs. Identify root causes and implement appropriate solutions to improve effectiveness and engagement.

• Function as an internal consultant and subject matter expert for organization assessment and design (OAD).

• Utilize organization change management (OCM) principles and methodology to support organizational change initiatives that achieve targeted outcomes on-time and on-budget. Build OCM capability across the function.

• Champion practices to improve individual and organizational performance, serving as the subject matter expert on performance and development goal setting, talent assessment, coaching and feedback.

• Drive diversity and inclusion strategy that is designed to foster integration of an I&D mindset into management practices and behaviors across the function.

• Deliver solutions that focus on the development and capability of the HR function.

Focus on Culture

• Establish and lead initiatives to drive the cultural evolution, including approaches on how to operationalize our leadership attributes by modifying behaviors and decision making.

• Lead and coordinate initiatives aligned with employee listening (onboarding, census, pulse and exit surveys) and establish measures and accountability for ongoing improvements based on feedback.

• Leverage role to be a thought leader that influences decisions made about talent at Eaton.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

• Proven success developing and designing OD and talent strategies that drive business results and performance.

• Minimum five (5) years of demonstrated experience developing business partnerships with cross-functional leadership to achieve results

• Minimum ten (10) years of demonstrated experience managing/developing people and coaching and influencing managers (at all levels)

• Experience in large multi-national manufacturing organizations with complex matrix structures

• Minimum fifteen (15) years in Organizational Development or Human Resources with direct experience in talent management.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship both now and in the future.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required.

​The expected annual salary range for this role is $172500.03 - $253000.04 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
