UPMC East’s Plant Maintenance Department is currently hiring a regular, fulltime Lead Stationary Engineer to work various shifts including day, evening and overnight.  The position will have weekend and holiday responsibility.

The Lead Stationary Engineer will be responsible for supervising, scheduling, and directing engineers in in the maintenance, repair, and installation of mechanical equipment.  They will also operate, maintain, and round a variety of mechanical equipment in a hospital environment as assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure all regulatory codes are met or exceeded (i.e. National Life Safety, JCAHO, etc.).
• Oversee the safe operation of the boiler plant and related systems in order to provide for the continuous operation of all hospital mechanical/electrical systems.
• Provide leadership and direction in the boiler plant operation including the off-duty coverage of critical operating utility systems.
• Schedule and perform preventative maintenance on components of the hospital essential utility systems.
