Job description

Purpose & Summary :
This role will be the primary representation of the service and overall hospitality of the restaurant. Responsible for greeting customers in a friendly manner and make sure all patrons are comfortable and kept informed of their status as requested. Will monitor the workflow of the restaurant and seat customers accordingly based on customers’ needs and wishes.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitor the open dining sections of the restaurant for empty and cleaned tables
- Record customer names and number of customers in the party, keep track of the waiting list, update customers of wait time as requested
- Greet all customers coming into the restaurant with a smile
- Answer customer inquiries and concerns politely and professionally. Always maintain courteous attitude when encountering impatient customers
- Escort patrons to the dining room, seat them at their table, and hand them menus
- Accommodate special requests from customers
- Communicate with supervisor/manager about special situations occurring in the dining area or waiting area
- Maintain personal health and sanitation standards
- Must be knowledgeable of all safety codes per BP's guidelines
- Ensure compliance with BP’s code of ethics, integrity and conduct
Minimum Qualifications:
- 1 year of food retail experience in a fast paced environment, specifically as a hostess
- Friendly attitude with excellent customer service skills
- Able to multitask and work in a team environment
- Bilingual Chinese preferred, but not required
- Must be able to work flexible schedules
- High School Diploma preferred
- All candidates are subject to a background check and employment verification process
Physical demands:
- Ability to continuously stand or walk
- Ability to bend and lift frequently
- Ability to lift up to 10lbs occasionally on an as-needed basis
- Ability to squat occasionally
Work environment:
- Work will be conducted in a kitchen and restaurant environment
- May encounter temperatures ranging from 32 degrees to 425 degrees around equipment
- May occasionally walk on slippery surfaces
- Noise level in the work environment is frequently loud
