Job description
Purpose Statement:
This position is responsible for the planning, administering, coordinating, supervising and evaluating a comprehensive media ministry of Sheridan Hills Baptist Church.
Spiritual/Personal Qualifications: - A born-again believer with a testimony of salvation by receiving Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord.
- An active member in good standing at a Bible-believing church. Because of the demands of the position the candidate must be willing to start attending Sheridan Hills Baptist Church.
- Maintain a vital and growing personal walk with the Lord through committed Bible study, prayer and meditation
- Public and private life that demonstrates Biblical qualities of a Christian role model at home, work, and in the community.
- Practice principles of Christian growth including prayer, study, witnessing, and discipleship.
- Physical and mental characteristics to perform the job description and duties.
Professional Qualifications: - Associate's degree required. Bachelor’s degree encouraged.
- One to three years of experience with Audio/Visual.
- Strong supervisory skills
- Ability to install and maintain various audio/visual applications.
- Effective verbal, presentation and listening communications skills.
- Computer skills including the ability to operate computerized accounting, spreadsheet, word processing, graphics.
General List of Responsibilities - Commitment to serving each Sunday morning and Wednesday evening, during Sheridan Hills Christian School functions, and ongoing ministries that require audio/visual support.
- Experience with visual presentation software (ProPresenter) and other software for video & image editing (Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere).
- Willingness to cooperate with and train volunteers to build a reliable media team.
- Advanced knowledge and experience with video equipment (cameras, external recorders, HDMI matrices, distribution converters, controllers, video switchers, video mixers, TVs) and cables (e.g. HDMI, VGA, DVI, USB, RCA, ¼”, 1/8”, SDI, CAT5, CAT6). This includes the ability to calculate screen resolutions, conversions, and distance between equipment and cables, for clear resolution. This includes the ability to set up and operate video equipment.
- Advanced knowledge and experience with sound equipment (mixers, amplifiers, processors, compressors, DI boxes, subwoofers, wireless transmitters, powered and unpowered speakers, wireless receivers, dynamic, condenser, omni-directional microphones, pre-amps) and cables (e.g. XLR, 1/4”, NH4, Banana plugs). This includes the ability to set up and operate sound equipment.
- Ability to adjust sound frequency by manipulating EQ controls on a mixer board for various applications (e.g. vocal microphone, guitars, piano, electric keyboard, drums, etc.).
- Basic understanding of lighting boards and controls (DMX).
- Maintain inventory of equipment.
Post-Production Responsibilities - Experience working with video editing software (Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere).
- Ability to discern and manipulate sound.
- Competence in file management, software configuration, and general processing procedures.
- Precision in editing and inputting during post-production.
- Organizational skills and ability to manage hardware (hard drives, cables, recording devices, computers)
- Understanding of video resolutions (720p, 1080i, 1080p), frame rates (60fr, 59.94, 25, 24), video extensions (.mp4, .mv4, .MOV), cables (HDMI, DVI, VGA, RCA), Mac computers, external recording devices (Ninja, HDMI audio extractors, AJA).
