Job Description
Brilliant Financial Staffinghas been engaged in the search for a Staff Accountant for one of our clients in the manufacturing industry, located in Elk Grove Village, IL. The accounting team is small, and this person would be working closely with the Accounting Manager and supporting month end close tasks. The Staff Accountant will be reviewing financial statements, posting journal entries, and completing bank account reconciliations. The Staff Accountant will be brought on a contract to hire basis and would be required to go into the office every day. Qualified candidates will be considered immediately and begin the interview process.
Staff Accountant Responsibilities:
- Enter AP invoices into QuickBooks Online
- Create AR invoices daily
- Download tax returns and monitor incoming tax payments
- Navigate through vendor portals and retrieve invoices
- Monitor multiple inboxes and respond to internal/external contacts in a timely manner
- Calculate accrual amounts and current amounts for vendors
- Identify prepaid expenses and accruals
- Involved in month end close by reviewing financial statements, completing bank account reconciliations, posting/adjusting journal entries, etc.
- Obtain proper approvals on invoices
- Record sales receipts, discounts, allowances, and chargebacks as needed
- Research vendor statements to assist with accuracy
- Match checks, ACH, wire transfers to vendor invoices daily
- Reconcile monthly sales and follow up on customer payments
- Assist with special projects as needed
Staff Accountant Qualifications:
- 4+ years of related experience
- QuickBooks Online experience is a plus
- Manufacturing experience is a MUST HAVE
- Advanced Excel skills are needed, comfortable with Pivot Tables and VLookups
- Being able to multitask, strong knowledge of cash management, ability to work independently and meet deadlines, organized, reliable, and excellent communication skills
