Job description
currently seeking an Email Marketing Specialist for an 18 month contract opportunity that is located in Addison, TX. The Email Marketing Specialist manages distribution for all outbound email campaigns and text messages for the Independent Sales Force. Responsible for planning, targeting, scheduling, configuring, testing, executing, reporting and optimizing email and text campaigns. This position is very detail-oriented and requires independent judgment & decision making on an ongoing basis throughout each day by determining how any specific email should be set up and built, where to load data for deployment, etc. This role requires the ability to collaborate with key stakeholders within the organization and to think creatively, strategically, identify, and resolve problems.
- Manages all email marketing campaigns including calendar, list segmentation and validation, and email campaign set up, QA and deployment in Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Under the direction of the supervisor, helps develop strategy for email and text campaigns. Develops and executes outbound email campaigns and text messages in response to requests received from various internal departments and campaign planning team. Populates templates with creative assets, copy, and programming html code. Proofs and edits content as needed and routes the email for approval at all stakeholders. Works cross functionally to ensure email marketing campaign information is accurate. Works in partnership with internal team to optimize campaign deployment process. Adheres to tight deadlines and implements last-minute changes as needed. 60%
- Works with IST Business Analyst to build Data Extensions for email templates. Executes email campaigns with a heavy emphasis on customer segmentation, testing protocol, and technical execution. 15%
- Troubleshoot and works closely with IST on any Marketing Cloud issues. 5%
- Serve as an email marketing and SMS subject matter expert and share best practices while working in partnership with internal team to optimize campaign deployment process. 10%
- Gathers, organizes, and analyzes data from journeys and provides strategic direction for the planning of emails and text messages. 10%
- In addition to the above, incumbent is expected to meet the required competencies for this position as defined in the competency profile.
REQUIREMENTS
- 2+ years of experience with web logistics, web publications and email campaigns, as well as professional writing, editing, online and publication communication experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or equivalent enterprise email automation software. Some technical email knowledge such as basic HTML email code evaluation/troubleshooting, list management, segmentation, journey building, & automation are preferred.
- Must have a strong proficiency in Salesforce Marketing Cloud or equivalent enterprise email and mobile automation software. Basic HTML knowledge, experience with list management, segmentation, journey building, automation, interactive forms and proficiency in Microsoft Excel strongly preferred. Experience with Google Analytics is beneficial.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Knowledge of best practices for database and email marketing.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills required to interface with the independent sales force, employees and executives to effectively plan, write, edit and obtain feedback regarding published information and potential topics. Diplomacy is required to advise internal clients and recommend best strategies for their communication needs.
- Requires ability to stay abreast of changes to Company policies, programs, etc., and translate this knowledge into meaningful communication materials for the independent sales force.
- Basic understanding of canned SPAM laws beneficial.
