Fieldstone at Chester Springs the areas newest senior living community opening this Summer - is seeking a dynamic Director of Culinary Services to lead our culinary team and elevate the dining experience for our residents.
As the Culinary Director, you will play a key role in creating a warm and inviting atmosphere through delicious and nutritious meals, fostering a sense of community and well-being. Additionally, you will collaborate with corporate support to develop the communitys culinary program from the ground up. As theCulinary Director you will: - Manage shifts which include daily decision making, scheduling, and planning
- Understand flavors, aromas, and characteristics of food ingredients and wines to ensure the high standard in guest experience
- Manage on-the-fly requests with ease and poise creating a calm and positive work environment
- Foster an environment of continuous learning, open and honest feedback, and corrective action as needed
- Work directly with the kitchen team to evaluate prep levels and food quality prior to each shift
- Be responsible for running the restaurant as if an owner
While we support continued learning and enrichment, and celebrate a culture that encourages learning new skills, there are base level requirements for this position that include but are not limited to: - 2+years of full-service, high-volume culinary experience
- Demonstrated working understanding of business operations and financials
- Strong communication skills
- Dependable, reliable, and motivated
- Able to work ten-hour plus shifts, plus ability to stand, sit, squat, or walk for extended periods of time
- Must be able to work rotating weekends, and holidays as needed
- Knowledge of POS systems - Visual Touch preferred
- You have 5+ years of hospitality related experience
- You have 3+ years of Restaurant Manager/ Leadership experience
- You have a current food handlers card and other certification as required by federal/state/local law
- You have strong knowledge of food and beverage menu - including ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation
- You have strong verbal and written communications skills and is able to communicate operational information - proven track record of increasing experience and responsibility
- You are comfortable using a computer, navigating Windows and Microsoft Office, Point of Sale System and Outlook Email
- A culinary degree is preferred, at least a high school diploma or GED required
- Willingness to perform other duties as required that are necessary to support the business created by passionate people this defines who we are and where we are going
