Job Summary
The Quick Lube Technician is responsible for performing automotive repairs and service in accordance with store and factory standards. This individual utilizes their skills to diagnose and resolve the different sources of automotive problems swiftly and accurately. The primary function of a Quick Lube Technician is to safely provide an excellent service experience for our customers. They must always perform quality services with the utmost honesty and integrity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with the Company and factory standards.
- Works hands-on with vehicles, including but not limited to changing oil and filters, adding fluids, checking tire pressures as well as inspecting for other necessary work.
- Reads and accurately completes Multipoint Inspection forms.
- Diagnoses cause of malfunction(s).
- Road-test vehicles to ensure quality of repair work.
- Works closely as a team with constant communication.
- Speaks with customers in a polite and professional manner.
- Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
- Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
- Attends shop meetings as requested.
- Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
- Documents work performed on repair order and documents test procedures/results.
- Ensures customers' cars are kept clean. Notifies service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
- Keeps shop area neat and clean.
- Responsible for providing and maintaining an inventory of normal mechanic tools to include screwdrivers, wrenches, socket wrenches, pliers, hammers, chisels and punches, and other tools needed to perform the work for which the technician is trained and not normally inventoried by the service department as ‘special tools’.
- Maintains and is accountable for all Company-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received.
- Acquire and maintain manufacturer and Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications by completing the necessary and required training.
- Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, including but not limited to hazardous waste disposal and OSHA Right-to-Know.
- Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
- Report to management any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare, or integrity of the Company, its personnel, or customers.
- Maintain personal grooming, hygiene, and uniform standards according to departmental policies.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Automotive experience or equivalent education preferred.
- Must be self-motivated, have a positive attitude and work well with other team members.
- Must have a strong work ethic.
- Must be thorough and take pride in your work.
- A valid driver’s license must be maintained.
Earnings Potential:
The wage range for this role is $15.00 to $20.00 per hour. Hourly wage is just one part of our total rewards package which additionally includes performance bonus for eligible roles, commissions, and competitive benefits.
