Job Summary

Intervine’s Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) is responsible for overseeing and managing all commercial aspects of the company. The primary focus is on revenue generation, business growth, profitability, and leading the sales and acquisitions teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing the commercial strategy to drive company growth and revenue, and will collaborate across departments to enhance market presence, identify new opportunities, and optimize revenue streams. This is a full-time position based in our Napa office. Intervine is an employee-owned company (ESOP) and provides medical benefits, paid holidays, paid time off, and a 401(k) plan.

Responsibilities & Duties

- Strategy development – Developing and executing a comprehensive commercial strategy that aligns with Intervine’s goals and objectives. Identifying market opportunities, defining target markets, and creating plans to maximize revenue and market share.
- Leadership – Leading Intervine’s sales and acquisitions teams to ensure best-in-class teamwork, efficient processes, and employee satisfaction. Provide guidance and direction to achieve revenue targets and market expansion.
- Sales and product portfolio management – Overall management of the sales and portfolio management functions. Ensuring we have the right products for our customers, driving sales initiatives, developing sales plans, setting targets and objectives, monitoring performance, and implementing effective sales strategies. Liaise with sales team members to optimize sales processes, customer acquisition, and retention strategies.
- Business development – Fostering strategic partnerships and alliances to enhance the company’s market position and offerings. Leading business development initiatives, seeking new partnerships, collaborations, and opportunities for growth. Identifying potential markets, evaluating expansion options, and negotiating strategic alliances to drive business growth.
- Customer relationship management – Focusing on building and maintaining strong relationships with customers. Work closely with the sales team to ensure customer satisfaction, resolve issues, and identify opportunities to drive sales.
- Pricing and revenue management – Overseeing pricing strategies, ensuring optimal pricing for products or services to maximize revenue and maintain competitiveness in the market. Analyze market trends, conduct pricing research, and monitor pricing effectiveness.
- Market intelligence – Monitoring industry trends, competitive landscape, and market dynamics to identify emerging opportunities, market trends, and potential threats. Gather market intelligence and use data-driven insights to make informed decisions. Develop strategies to expand Intervine’s footprint.
- Cross-functional collaboration – Collaborating with various departments including finance, operations, and marketing to align commercial objectives with overall business goals. Foster cross-functional teamwork and communication to drive success.
- Risk Management and Compliance – Assess and manage commercial risks, ensuring compliance with international and domestic regulations and industry standards. Develop risk mitigation strategies to protect Intervine’s commercial interests.
- Domestic and international travel required approximately 20% of the time; subject to increase as needed.

Skills & Qualifications

- Must live within commuting distance to Napa CA.
- Proven experience (15+ years) in a related role, preferably as a Vice President or similar capacity.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve targets. Sales leadership experience is required.
- Wine, Food & Beverage, or airline industry experience preferred.
- Proven experience demonstrating strong strategic planning and execution abilities.
- Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth and market expansion.
- Strong Word, Excel, and Outlook skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work with tight deadlines
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience selling to airlines and/or cruise lines is preferred.
- Experience selling food and beverages is preferred.
- Aptitude for growing a small company and supporting the sales team in achieving growth targets.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. MBA preferred.
