We seek a dedicated, passionate, and seasoned professional to join our faculty as a Lecturer in Finance.
Position Overview:
As a Lecturer in Finance, you will play a key role in our finance program, providing high-quality education and mentorship to our students. You will engage in experiential learning and teach a range of investment classes, including our popular course in which you and the students enrolled in the class manage a $700,000 portfolio.
Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility is to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in finance, including introductory and advanced levels. The total teaching load is four courses per semester. We seek someone to offer cutting-edge finance education, supervise and advise students participating in a student-run investment class, and serve as faculty advisor for our Financial Management Associate (FMA) chapter. The successful applicant will demonstrate their ability to develop and implement innovative teaching methods that promote hands-on learning and critical thinking. As part of community building, we ask that the successful applicant work to strengthen ties between the College of Business and regional business firms, provide academic advising and mentorship and participate in departmental meetings and university service activities.
Qualifications:
A master's degree in Finance or a related field (Ph.D. is a plus). Prior teaching experience in finance or a related field is important but not required. A commitment to student success and experiential learning. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. A collaborative and student-centered approach to education. Presence and engagement with students aligned with a residential campus focus Industry experience in finance is highly valued.
