POSITION TITLE: Project Manager
PAY STATUS: Non-exempt
SUPERVISES: N/A
PAY RANGE: $130,000 - $150,000
General Responsibility:
A Construction Project Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing and successfully executing construction projects for a construction company specializing in Class A high-rise buildings and multi-story parking structures within the $10 - $35 million project size range. The projects are primarily located in the Los Angeles, Orange County, and Inland Empire regions. The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards.
Significant Duties:
Project Planning and Scheduling:
- Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring milestones are met.
- Create and maintain detailed project plans.
Budget Management:
- Prepare and manage project budgets to ensure cost control.
- Monitor and control project expenses.
- Evaluate change orders and their impact on the project's budget.
Scope Management:
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Implement safety measures to minimize risks on the construction site.
Quality Assurance:
- Maintain high-quality standards for construction work.
- Perform quality inspections and address any issues promptly.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and manage project teams, including site supervisors, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Foster a collaborative and efficient working environment.
Communication:
- Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, including clients, architects, and regulatory authorities.
- Provide progress reports and updates on project status.
Compliance:
- Ensure all construction activities comply with local building codes and regulations.
- Obtain necessary permits and approvals.
Technology Proficiency:
- Utilize construction management software such as Prolog and Converge for project documentation and management (Fluency in these tools is a plus).
Problem Solving:
- Address issues and challenges that may arise during the construction process.
- Implement corrective actions to keep the project on track.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Experience: 5-10 years of experience in project management within the construction industry, preferably in high-rise buildings and parking structure projects.
- Skills: Strong understanding of project scoping, procurement, budgeting, and cost control.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Software Proficiency: Fluency in construction management software, such as Prolog and Converge, is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
