Project Title: Microsoft System Diagnosis and Optimization
Project Overview: The Office of the Comptroller seeks a skilled Microsoft 365 Consultant for a short-term project. This project aims to evaluate, diagnose, and optimize the Microsoft system setup. The consultant will investigate configurations, user profiles, and mapping to identify issues and implement fixes for enhanced performance and efficiency.
Context: The department comprises approximately 150 individuals working remotely and in-office. Each employee is provided with a Windows 11-based laptop equipped with VPN, Microsoft Office suite, and InTune for endpoint management. Users are experiencing sign-on, connectivity, and syncing issues possibly linked to user profiles, networking, and domains in the Microsoft environment.
Key Responsibilities:
System Evaluation: Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the existing Microsoft system setup, including infrastructure, configurations, and integrations.
Profile Analysis: Analyze user profiles and permissions to identify discrepancies, inefficiencies, or security vulnerabilities.
Mapping Examination: Review mapping configurations to ensure accurate data flow and integration across various Microsoft applications and platforms.
Issue Diagnosis: Investigate and troubleshoot reported or suspected issues within the Microsoft environment, including software glitches, connectivity issues, and data inconsistencies.
Solution Implementation: Implement necessary fixes and optimizations to address identified issues and improve system performance.
Documentation and Reporting: Document findings, recommendations, and implemented solutions in a concise report for project stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Education: A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is preferred. Practical experience and certifications can compensate for formal education.
Certifications: Microsoft certifications relevant to Microsoft 365 are beneficial, including but not limited to:
Experience: Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 deployment, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting is crucial. Experience with Azure Active Directory, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and Power Platform is beneficial.
Continuous Learning: Staying updated with the latest features, updates, and best practices within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem is essential.
Soft Skills: Effective communication, problem-solving, project management, and client relationship management skills are important.
Specialization: Specializing in specific areas such as security, compliance, collaboration, or development can provide deeper expertise.
