Job description

Opportunity available for a full-time scientist to focus on molecular-genetic imaging for human cancers and other conditions using synthetic biology, nanotechnology and small animal imaging at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, ranked the No.1 hospital in Dallas-Fort Worth by the annual U.S. News & World Report rankings (2023-2024). The applicant is expected to have a PhD (or equivalent) in biochemistry, microbiology or molecular biology and documented experience in the development and execution of new molecular imaging agents for preclinical studies and clinical translation.

Candidates applying at the Assistant Professor level should have a minimum of two years of post-doctoral training. Exceptional candidates can apply at the Associate Professor or Professor levels. Candidates at or above the Associate Professor level are expected to have a strong publication record and sustained external funding in the areas described above . Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.

This faculty position will be within the Research section in the Department of Radiology with close interactions with scientists in the rest of the Department, as well as scientists in the Advanced Imaging Research Center, and the Biomedical Engineering Department. This faculty member will co-report to the Vice-chair of Research and the Chair of Radiology and is expected to work collaboratively with the physicians in the Department of Radiology and other Departments in the Medical Center. This faculty member is also expected to seek extramural funding for independent research as well as participate in collaborative projects and grant applications. The faculty member is encouraged to participate in the Department of Radiology education programs.
