Title: Communications & Change Management Director, Epic/IT Implementation

Location: Remote with the possibility of travel if needed

Contract:initial 12-month contract with likely extension

Start: 3/4 or 3/11 2024

Requirement:

10+ years of corporate/enterprise-level internal Communications and Change Management experience

Expertise leading communication plans, governance, and controls for enterprise-level Healthcare IT projects (software implementations)

Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)

Foundational knowledge of Epic EHR system, and full life cycle implementation process

Experience recommending, establishing, and executing on enterprise-wide internal communication plans and controls

Comfortable reporting directly to executive leadership and steering committees

Ability to work alongside technical, operational, and clinical staff and leadership throughout the project.

Job Description Summary:

The Communications Director consultant for the Epic clinical application implementation will support the ongoing rollout of the initiative across our enterprise provider client, including the development of a communications plan that informs and engages impacted associates, technical staff, caregivers and physicians from across the system. Ideal candidates will have at least 10 years of healthcare communications experience, including the development and management of communications campaigns across large organizations and with focus on change management and Information Technology (IT) communications. Experience in a corporate healthcare setting is required.

The responsibilities under this contract position include, but are not limited to, the following:

● Partner with Clinical and Informatics leaders and IT project teams on the creation of a communications plan for the Epic communications plan and expectations

● Establish a voice for the initiative, with focus on providing regular updates across the system on initiative progress, impact and the positive benefits of this work for our clinicians/impacted teams.

● Facilitate day-to-day communication needs of the initiative, including:

Director-level management of work responsibilities and communication plans, including the creation and execution of the plans. This role will have strategic partnership from the VP of Communications, but no direct reports nor additional communications staff support.

Creation of communication tactics in support of the communication plans (presentations, flyers, talking points, intranet webpage (Google Site) and communications toolkits), leveraging of innovative channels to reach a non-deskbound workforce.

Management of communications projects (adherence to deadlines; process management; consensus building and cascading/socializing plans).

Collaboration with the system communications team on ensuring Epic Refuel outreach aligns with congruent communications plans, content calendar and overall strategy of the communications department.

Partner with organizational stakeholders to ensure comprehensive understanding of the initiatives and on-message communications planning and execution that best meet the needs of the organization.

Development of ad hoc messages, if needed.

● Represent communications on regular touch base/steering committee meetings for the Epic Implementation project; attend regular communications team meetings to ensure alignment/complementary approach to Epic Implementation communications. We seek an enthusiastic, strategic, self starter, communicator who is comfortable directing communications activities and providing consultation to a wide range of stakeholders, including front line associates up through the executive suite. Work samples are encouraged along with candidate resumes to help the hiring subcommittee understand a candidate’s approach to communications.
