JOB SUMMARY:
A sleep technologist works under the general supervision of the Medical Director and the Administrative Director of Pulmonary & Sleep services to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders including in center and home sleep apnea testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education. A sleep technologist is credentialed in sleep technology and can provide oversight of other sleep center staff.
REQUIREMENTS:
To qualify you must have proof of current New Jersey State License as a Polysomnographic Technologist and/or Respiratory Therapist. Qualification to obtain, or possession of the CCSH (Certification in Clinical Sleep Health) preferred. Be registered by the ABSM, BRPT, or NBRC (Certification by the ABSM, BRPT, or NBRC does NOT satisfy this qualification.) At least one year experience as a sleep technologist. Comply with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and standards regarding safety and infection control issues. Perform routine equipment care and maintenance and inventory evaluation. Maintain current CPR or BLS certification. Demonstrate computer skills appropriate for the position. Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate appropriate social skills. Demonstrate customer service skills. Demonstrate critical thinking and ability to work with minimal supervision to analyze complex situations and apply policy. Demonstrate teamwork skills. Follow HIPAA and privacy policies. Demonstrate ability to follow direction. Respond to sleep patients procedural-related inquiries by providing appropriate education utilizing sleep center specific protocols. Adhere to sleep center policies and procedures. Inspect and maintain sleep study related equipment and inventory. Review and evaluate sleep studies and provide appropriate feedback to staff. Comply with professional standards of conduct. Assist the medical director, clinical director and/or manager in all aspects of sleep center operations.

Per diem Hourly rate: $47.00
