APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Conceptualize, design, develop, and bring into production products that will continually redefine the mobile experience. Lead the end-to-end design and engineering integration of a complex sub-system within the product, which typically involves multiple customer-facing features. Work closely with a range of technical and operations disciplines spanning many cross-functional teams to define engineering requirements and manage the resolution of challenges associated with integrating key technologies into the product. Design, engineer, and validate concepts, parts, and solutions using 3D CAD tools. Integrate experience from design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), statistical analysis and process control theory, functional dimensioning, and geometric tolerancing into design work. Create technical drawings and test specifications for mechanical components, including callouts for GD&T, FAI/SPC, and ORT. Partner with overseas manufacturers to ensure designed parts are mass producible. Collaborate with experts in finite element methods (FEM) to analyze structural and functional robustness of components and systems. Resolve issues and ensure the design meets requirements throughout its lifecycle by applying mechanical and material engineering principles to conduct failure analysis and determine root cause. Parse and synthesize large datasets and complicated design details into visual summaries that clearly communicate issues and proposed solutions. Develop innovative analysis tools and methods to assess performance of new, breakthrough technologies invented for iPhone. International travel required 20%. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $138,900 - $208,300/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Material Engineering or related field.
