The Instrument Technician I will be responsible for disinfecting, sterilizing, and assembling surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment. Care and/or service is provided for neonates, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

REQUIRED

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written instructions.
3. Less than 12 months experience as an instrument technician.
4. FOR SURGICAL SERVICES ONLY: Accepted into the Northside SPD Internship or a Graduate of an accredited program in Sterile Processing requiring clinical hours or a graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program with less than 12 months experience.

PREFERRED  

1. Central Service Technician Certification:
2. Inpatient sterile processing requires CRCST or CSPDT certification.
3. Outpatient sterile processing requires CRCST, CSPDT or CASSPT certification.
4. For GI Labs, CFER is acceptable.
