Job Description Summary
This AET Manufacturing Engineer will report to the AET Engineering Leader in GE Aerospace’s Dayton Cores and Castings site. Our AET Team is developing the next generation of airfoil casting technology to advance the development and manufacturing of airfoils. The AET Manufacturing Engineer will partner with teams to mature the manufacturing process and develop best practices. They will be responsible for managing SQDC as it relates to AET ceramic components.
Dayton Cores and Castings (DCC) is a GE Aerospace manufacturing shop that makes HPT Airfoil Cores and Castings. We are a low-rate production show that develops the leading edge of airfoil technology to deliver value through new product introduction and manufacturing industrialization.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
- Ownership of ceramic AET product with substantial involvement in manufacturing process development and industrialization efforts.
- Develop strong understanding of product quality acceptance criteria and customer requirements.
- Utilize technical experience and analytical thinking to improve the quality of GE Aerospace’s newest products.
- Apply best practices in additive manufacturing and ceramic processing.
- Coordinate cross-functional projects and present outcomes to technical and business leaders.
- Engage with Design Engineering team to drive producibility of components produced using additive manufacturing.
- Engage with Engineering Materials Science team on the industrialization of the manufacturing process.
- Be connected to the details of the additive manufacturing process and work closely with the team at our development facilities.
- AET is an ever-growing and evolving space so the Manufacturing Engineer will have opportunity to own and support future projects.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Materials Engineering experience).
- Minimum of 3 years of Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Materials Engineering experience.
Desired Characteristics
- Technical depth in additive manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing process.
- Experience with Airfoils, Ceramics, and/or Castings
- Experience with NX/SolidWorks for modeling and GOM/PolyWorks for product characteristic evaluation
