Agriculture Maintenance Manager
Client is seeking an Agriculture Maintenance Manager to lead the Agriculture Department’s maintenance group. The position requires a proven leader capable of critical thinking and a strong understanding of machine design, operation, and maintenance.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Hold safety as the top priority in the work environment; act as chair of the Agriculture Safety Committee overseeing safety initiatives for the Agriculture Department.
- Strategic planning of maintenance and upgrades of sugarbeet pilers and the standardization of best practices across all districts to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all shareholders.
- Direct accountability of five Agriculture Maintenance Supervisors responsible for planning and scheduling of maintenance activities relative to the receiving stations and pilers in their districts.
- Indirect accountability for 45-50 Agriculture Mechanics, Electricians, and Machinists that report to the Agriculture Maintenance Supervisors.
- Work with Local Union leadership and HR departments for union hourly bid job postings, placing of candidates, and disciplinary issues in accordance with the Union collective bargaining agreement.
- Work closely with the Agriculture Capital Manager and District Agricultural Managers to identify necessary equipment upgrades or replacements as part of the five-year Agriculture Capital Plan.
- Compile and accurately maintain the annual maintenance budget and expenditure reports to monitor budget-to-actual spend through the harvest and maintenance cycles.
- Act as the Capital Asset Management (CAM) Administrator for the Agriculture Department; maintain records of all equipment within the JD Edwards Integrated Business System CAM application, and maintain work orders for accurate tracking of labor and material expenses for annual maintenance.
QUALIFICATIONS - Background in machinery maintenance, repair, and preventative maintenance practices.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electric, and hydraulic systems and components.
- Familiarity with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis to identify problems and potential failures.
- Prior supervisory or management experience overseeing mechanical tradesmen.
- Familiarity with Union collective bargaining agreements.
- Experience with JD Edwards Integrated Business Systems preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications, AutoCAD or other drafting experience a plus.
- Mechanical or electrical technical degree preferred, or equivalent job experience that exhibits a strong understanding of machine design, operation, and maintenance.
LOCATION
Based out of Boise, ID with frequent travel required to shop and receiving station locations.
