Job description

Citigroup Global Markets Inc. seeks a Research Analyst for its New York, NY location.

Duties: Analyze and assess relative value opportunities across different parts of US and European securitized products including agency mortgage-backed securities (MBS), non-agency RMBS, CMBS, and ABS to evaluate and propose recommendations. Apply recommendation on assets based on cross asset analysis, focusing on specific themes, including duration, liquidity, volatility or identifying cross-asset flows, macro/regulatory shifts in demand, and supply trends. Build data infrastructure, harvest data from various data sources including Bloomberg, Haver, Yieldbook, Trepp, Intex and many other external data providers, as well as various internal databases. Maintain and update datasets for efficient data analysis. Manipulate data to identify market trends using Python, SQL and Excel. Generate visualizations for publications. Write regular publications that present market views on what is relevant and important. Generate data pack to include charts on market supply, flows, and performance relative value analysis. Publish ad hoc trade recommendations focusing on asset class allocations. Responsible for client relationship development. Work closely with traders and sales people to facilitate value-added dialogue with targeted clients. Prepare market analysis materials for client meetings and webcasts. Remote work may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite, in accordance with Citi policy.

Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Financial Engineering, or a related field, and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. Two (2) years of experience must include: Working in the financial services industry; Performing financial data cleaning, statistical analysis, and visualization with Python and excel; Performing quantitative investing strategies, including factor models and machine learning models; Conducting interest rate modeling and fixed income valuation; Financial market risk and credit risk modeling; and Developing market research reports.
