Market Intelligence Analyst (Hybrid)

As the Market Intelligence Analyst, you will contribute by establishing a level of market intelligence (MI) about market share, competition, market trend, industrial automation segments and customer intimacy through an “identify, extract, analyze and message” process. The Market Analyst is responsible for ensuring high levels of market intelligence availability through support functions and in-depth testing, and through the use of primary and secondary market research. That includes the Business Areas Industrial Automation, Energy & Power, IT and Cooling, but as well the Vertical Markets.
Responsibilities:
- Drive business decisions by providing quantitative and qualitative data analysis and reporting of patterns, insights, and trends to decision-makers.
- Collect, aggregate, and analyze data from multiple internal and external sources to drive insights into business performance.
- Produce actionable reports that show key performance indicators, identify areas of improvement into current operations, and display root cause analysis of problems.
- Use analytics and metrics to improve processes and provide data-driven forecasts of potential costs, risks, and profits of new business initiatives.
- Communicate findings and insight to stakeholders and provide business strategy recommendations for optimizing business performance.
- Provide reporting solutions and respond to ad-hoc report requests across multiple business areas.
- May participate in the design and development of marketing & business intelligence reporting tools.
- Strategic Plan – Facilitate, develop, coordinate, and track the strategic plan for the short term and long-term growth of the company under the direction of the Executive Team.
- Market Share – through primary, secondary, or other research, identify, track and report on Total Addressable Market ( TAM), Serviceable Available Market ( SAM) and market share metrics for key product groups and vertical markets to support new product development, strategic initiatives, etc.
- Data Analysis – identify the source of data (internal and external), conduct in-depth analysis, and eventually assist in developing actions and company strategy.
- Competition Intelligence – monitor movement of key competitors in product development and project activities via typical sources such as website, press releases, tradeshows, and customers. Maintain and improve internal competition database.
- Industrial Automation & IT Segment Info – conduct research in focus industrial segments in terms of SWOT, market potential, product mix, etc.
- Microeconomics – monitor key industrial indicators such as PMI, GDP, IT Spending, Manufacturers’ Shipments, etc.
- Customer Feedback – assist with the creation and execution of customer surveys. Establish baseline of measurement, respectively.
- Prepare and distribute regular Marketing Intelligence report to executive management team.
- Cooperate with other functional departments such as sales, Finance, and IT departments to secure the data source and ensure high levels of data availability and reliability.
- Measures results against desired outcomes and assist in developing proposals of plan adjustment and new initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, finance or statistics, MBA strongly preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in similar role, preferably for a manufacturing company
- Proficient in Microsoft Word (intermediate level), Excel (intermediate or advanced level), and PowerPoint (intermediate or advanced level).
- Knowledge of and prior experience with SAP, SPSS products is a plus.
- Knowledge of and prior experience with CRM software is a plus.
