Overall management lead of capital project execution across all phases (conceptual thru pre-commissioning)
Stewardship – Engages team on the right way .
- Lead front end works of capital project charter development and project formation
- Lead the development of overall project scope and execution strategy
- Lead the development of cost estimates for funding requests
- Lead preparation of the funding documents for the project working with the Business Team, Site Personnel, and Finance.
Quality – Ensures work quality (right the first time)
- Based on project requirements, assemble a Team of qualified Personnel (Celanese or Contract) to execute the project.
Engagement – Creates an environment for teaching, coaching and learning
- Lead execution of project through Pre-FEED, FEED, DED and Construction phases
- Provide technical engineering design
- Lead decisions on contracting strategy and selection of contractor(s)
Production/Reliability – Work Execution
- Provide services and support for pre-startup and commissioning activities and support startup activities as deemed necessary for the business
Strategy – Implements maintenance plans
- Responsible for final close out reporting and all documentation required for the project
- Responsible for control of cost, schedule and scope within corporate guidelines
- Develop +/-50% TIC estimates for conceptual and early stage project ideas for corporate strategy input.
Communication – Effective communication to key stakeholders
- Responsible for final close out reporting and all documentation required for the project
- Act as role model for other less experienced project engineers and mentor/coach as appropriate
- Minimum of 6 years of experience directly managing or having been a part of capital projects with a TIC value $1-$10MM
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required
- Proficient in SAP - Project Systems Module
- Working knowledge of gated work processes for project execution
- Familiarity as owner with capital projects executed on / integrated with existing operating sites
- Project controls (schedule, cost reporting, cost projection)
- Proven negotiation skills
- Knowledge of contract and procurement processes
- Knowledge of planning business aspect of chemical and/or petrochemical plant production
- Reliability, Maintenance or Construction background
- Ability to travel ~10%
