Job description
The School of Social Sciences invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Criminal Justice to begin August 2024. We are interested in candidates whose teaching and research demonstrate a critical perspective and whose areas of specialization include any of the following: restorative justice, legal studies, research methods, international studies, and/or globalization.
Candidates will be expected to teach core and elective courses in criminal justice and sociology as needed, teaching four courses per semester, as well as advising. We are seeking a candidate who will ultimately be able to perform the duties of Coordinator of Criminal Justice, and supervise a community-based, restorative justice internship program, as part of their ongoing teaching and advising responsibilities. A Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Sociology or related discipline is required for tenure-track but will consider ABD. Strong preference will be given to candidates with a commitment to excellence in teaching and the ability to involve undergraduates in research.
