Job description
Job Type: Fulltime
Hybrid remote in Columbia MD
Duties:
- Design and analyze structures using CAD software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Develop and review structural plans specifications and calculations
- Collaborate with architects contractors and other professionals to ensure structural integrity and compliance with building codes
- Conduct site visits to assess existing structures and provide recommendations for repairs or modifications
- Prepare construction documents including drawings and reports
- Oversee construction projects to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and drafters
- Make recommendations for materials to use and safety measures to take
- Oversee project management like tracking budgets and maintaining a database of projects and their progress
- Other duties as required
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- 5 years experience in Structural Engineering
- Proficient in CAD software such as AutoCAD Revit and Civil 3D
- Strong knowledge of structural design principles and building codes
- Experience with system design and project engineering
- Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
