The Role: As an RV Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing recreational vehicles (RVs) to ensure they are safe, functional, and in excellent condition for our customers. This role involves a combination of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work, making it essential to have a diverse skill set in order to succeed. You will work in a team-oriented environment to provide top-notch service and maintenance for a wide range of RVs, ensuring the satisfaction and safety of our clients.
Role Responsibilities:
Inspection and Diagnosis:
- Conduct thorough inspections of RVs to identify mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural issues.
- Use diagnostic tools and techniques to pinpoint problems and determine necessary repairs.
Repairs and Maintenance:
- Perform various repairs and maintenance tasks on RVs, including but not limited to engine repairs, electrical system troubleshooting, plumbing repairs, and interior/exterior carpentry.
- Replace and repair RV appliances, fixtures, and components, such as air conditioning units, refrigerators, awnings, and more.
- Ensure all work complies with industry standards and safety regulations.
Installation:
- Install new RV components and accessories, such as solar panels, generators, and entertainment systems.
- Safely handle propane systems and install or repair as needed.
Customer Communication:
- Communicate with customers to explain the repair process, provide cost estimates, and obtain necessary approvals.
- Keep customers informed about the progress of their RV service and address any questions or concerns.
Documentation:
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, parts used, and work performed.
- Prepare and submit accurate service reports and invoices to customers.
Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other RV technicians, service advisors, and parts specialists to ensure efficient operations.
- Share knowledge and provide assistance to less experienced technicians.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment and proper handling of hazardous materials.
- Keep up to date with industry regulations and best practices.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in RV repair is a plus.
- Proven experience as an RV Technician or in a related field.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and plumbing skills.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Knowledge of RV systems, components, and appliances.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform manual tasks and lift heavy equipment.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
