Job Description Summary:
The HR Information Systems (HRIS) Architect I provides responsive system support to distributed HRIS professionals and business functional leads to design HR information systems, troubleshoot and resolve system issues, configure business process workflows, security concerns, or integration issues between the HRIS and external systems/vendors. The HRIS Architect writes and maintains a variety of reports and dashboards and responds to ad hoc requests to support HR analytics efforts.
The HRIS Architect I consults with distributed HRIS professionals, HR functional leads, and key business users to better understand business challenges, help define and gather business requirements, and recommend solutions that improve business processes, HR workflows, and other aspects of the HR systems environment. The HRIS Architect I employs change management best practices and supports the tactical execution of HRIS configuration, testing, and implementation activities for HR projects.
The HRIS Architect I participates in testing and deployment for releases and collaborates with functional leads on training approach to meet the varying needs of end-users and enable self-service.
Job Description:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as a Workday HCM functional “superuser,” developing an intimate understanding of how the system functions within select areas of the Workday HCM ecosystem (this role will be primarily supporting Recruiting, Core HCM/Compensation, and Position Management.)
- Work closely with business counterparts to gather, document, and inventory business requirements as well as assist with prioritizing business-requested projects as part of the overall Workday roadmap
- As part of Workday Product Team, conduct advanced functional configuration and business requirements testing to ensure system design meets business expectations
- In conjunction with the business team, provide Workday end user support for system changes, releases, and other deployments
- Actively participate in the City's Workday Change Control Committee which plans for and coordinates development, testing, and system release activities in concert with business needs and objectives
- Develop, test, and deploy advanced-level custom reports in Workday
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Experience working with complex, enterprise-wide and/or human resources information systems
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, organizational skills, and interpersonal relationship skills
- Highly motivated, curious, proactive, flexible, and results-oriented
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Experience working in Human Resources, Labor Relations, IT, and/or a related business field
- Experience with one or more Workday HCM modules
- Experience with the systems development life cycle (SDLC) and enterprise system management best practices (e.g., change control)
- Experience providing end-user support or other types of one-on-one customer service
- Experience working in an environment with strict confidentiality environments
- Possess professional certifications relevant to the HR fields (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, CCP, etc.)
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE - Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business, IT, or a related field) or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2 or more years' experience working with enterprise-level HR information systems
- Advanced-level Microsoft Excel proficiency or equivalent experience in logic-based software or programming
