Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety Manager- Maintain safe and secure environment for team members and visitors in accordance with company policies and health and safety regulations
- Manage plant waste operations including collection, storage, processing, reclamation, and proper disposal of hazardous, universal, and non-hazardous wastes
- Review and evaluate performance of the various production processes and functions, address performance gaps
- Take or recommend corrective action as needed to ensure visitors and employees are focusing on safety goals
- Maintain active presence on the production floor, engaging employees to ensure safe operations
- Maintain a good working knowledge of the physical alarm and fire protection systems
- Consistently use tools to detect, investigate and resolve problems associated with acts of dishonesty, safety, or exposure to loss
- Performs required safety inspections including waste storage, permit-by-rule operations, emission points, and analytical X-Ray machines
- Maintains Safety Data Sheets (SDS) system
- Collects, organizes, and reports required data to regulatory such as waste generation, emissions data, Tier II, TRI, and OSHA 300 log
- Update safety documentation systems
- Perform industrial hygiene tasks related to monitoring for noise and chemical exposure
- Review, approve, and maintain supply of PPE for plant personnel
- Serve as lead for management of change process
- Manage the movement, labeling, and packaging of hazardous materials and wastes
- Bachelors degree in an Environmental, Health, and Safety discipline preferred
- 5+ years experience in EHS position
- USDOT Hazmat Training or ability to attain
- 40 Hour Hazwopper or ability to attain
- OSHA 30 Hour or ability to attain
- Radiation Safety Officer Certification or ability to attain 1st Aid, CPR, AED Trained
