Qualifications:

Minimum of 20 year(s) of experience OR BA/BS Degree in Agriculture, natural resources, agronomy, or related field of study.

• Experience in processing and administering minerals plans of operation.
• Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, Power Point

Duties:

The primary role of this position is to support the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest Minerals program by sharing program expertise and educating and onboarding new geologists. MAJOR DUTIES The incumbent assists the Minerals Program Manager in the continued effective functioning of the H-T Minerals Program (the largest locatable program in the Forest Service) on a part-time basis by providing institutional knowledge, training and guidance to less experienced geologists that are new to the H-T Minerals Program.

• Travel Requirements: Travel to field to teach administration of minerals projects.
• Overnight travel: Occasional overnight travel may be needed up to 4 days year.
• Health and Safety Considerations: MSHA certified.
• Required Safety Gear: Hard hat, steel toes boots, safety vests, chock block and glasses at active mine sites.
• Safety Gear Use: Safety equipment will be needed, and property used for the field and mine site visits.
• Physical requirements: Office environment as well as field going. Field going work: driving off-road, walking. on uneven terrain and minor hiking. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
