Description

The Mission Associate is responsible for assisting in the promotion and integration of the mission and values of Trocaire College with its Mercy/Catholic heritage. This position is the primary coordinator of the Mercy Action Project (MAP) - a mission-based student learning experience that is a graduation requirement for all students. The Mission Associate will engage in strategies and programs such as Mercy Heritage Week and other celebrations that enhance the spiritual development of all members of the college community. This person will also provide oversight of outreach programs such as Catherine's Cupboard (a service to assist with food insecurity) and the Sr. Sally Walz, RSM Student Emergency Fund.

Key Responsibilities

· Support the Vice President of Mission and Advancement to help ensure that the Mercy mission and values are consistently a component across all areas of the college.

· Proactively manage, plan and implement tasks associated with MAP such as coordination of community partners (service sites), documents tracking student hours, site evaluation, and reflection question answers, etc.

· Administrator of Sr. Sally Walz, RSM Student Emergency Fund and Catherine's Cupboard including reception of requests for financial assistance and food, consultation with committee member, and processing payments following established guidelines, and keeping timely and accurate records of financial gifts provided to recipients.

· Assist in the providing pastoral and spiritual programming for the college community.

· Support media content transfer (video and photography) of mission activities to the college's website, social media platforms, and print, in coordination with the Special Assistant to the President for Communications and Marketing

Minimum Qualifications

· 3-5 years of ministerial experience with a Bachelor's Degree preferred OR a minimum 5 years of experience in church/pastoral ministry.

· Solutions-oriented team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Highly motivated, demonstrated self-starter with ability to manage multiple, complex tasks, and adapt to changing needs and shifting priorities.

· Strong organizational skills and extremely high attention to detail.

· Ability to think critically; eagerness to learn and make a difference.

· Excellent customer service and hospitality skills.

· Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and take direction.

· Perform other job duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

· Active participation in church life, fluent in Catholic tradition including being conversant with Catholic intellectual and social thought and how it shapes Catholic Higher Education.

· Commitment to the history, tradition and current direction of the Sisters of Mercy.

· Prior experience in mission, ministry, service-learning functions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The work is primarily indoors, but outdoor travel may be required. Ability to interact

visually and tactilely with typical computer and electronic equipment (monitors, keyboards, mice, etc.).

General office environment. May require long periods seated at a computer. May require standing for extended periods particularly during events. Requires close work on a computer screen for extended periods. May require lifting up to 20 lbs. Stair climbing may be necessary.

Ability to communicate effectively with all constituents of the College; ability to speak to groups; handle multiple tasks simultaneously; ability to physically perform the functions of the position; ability to work required hours to include weekends and evenings.
