Description
The Spine Hospital of Louisiana seeks a skilled and compassionate Radiologic Technologist to join our team. In this role, you will perform diagnostic imaging procedures to help physicians diagnose and treat various medical conditions. The ideal candidate will have a keen attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care. Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintains awareness to prevent surgical harm or injury to patients.
- Maintains proper body mechanics while turning, lifting, bending, stretching, walking, and standing.
- Performs duties designated by the Clinical Services Director or Lead Tech.
- Demonstrates a consistently high degree of accuracy in the accomplishments of daily activities.
- Possesses knowledge of radiographic techniques, which consistently produce optimum diagnostic quality.
- Possesses a working knowledge of radiographic equipment used in the facility.
- Responsible for preparing contrast media for safe administration to the patient as prescribed by the physician.
- Responsible for checking patients before radiographic procedures for proper preparation and allergies.
- Ensures comfort and safety while positioning and immobilizing the patient for the procedure.
- Adheres to federal and state radiation safety guidelines and regulations regarding patient and personnel protections, collimation, and shielding.
- Cost-effectively maintains adequate supplies and equipment in appropriate working conditions.
- Responsible for proper cleaning of radiological equipment.
- Ensures proper monitoring, rotation, and disbursement of all stereotactic supply stock, mainly with expiration dates.
- Participates in providing and presenting educational instruction on existing and newly acquired equipment and instruments.
- Report damaged equipment to the Clinical Services Director and follow the procedure for damaged instruments and equipment.
- Responsible for maintaining a sterile field during the procedure.
- Responsible for after-hours on-call.

Requirements
Education: Graduate from an accredited radiologic technology program.
Experience: Previous experience in a hospital or medical setting. C-Arm experience is preferred but not required.
Licenses/Certificates: Licensure by the Louisiana State Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners (LSRTBE), certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), and current BLS certification are required.
Special Skill: Willingness to learn, attention to detail, and critical thinking.
Physical Requirements: must be able to stand for long periods.
