Parmatech - CA Parmatech Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of ATW Companies based in Petaluma, CA, is a leading supplier of complex custom manufactured metal components to demanding markets (medical, industrial, defense, aerospace, etc.) Parmatech deploys established and emerging technologies such as Metal Injection Molding (MIM), micro-machining, and 3D Printed Metal (3DPM) to deliver consistent high quality product. Parmatech is a pioneer in MIM, developing, patenting, and licensing the technology in the early 1970’s to help kick start a market that is now over $2.5 Billion. MIM is a low cost, high volume manufacturing process producing parts to near net shape, reducing or eliminating the need for secondary and machining operations. 3DPM is cutting edge technology that can deliver concept to prototype in 2 weeks and deliver complex shapes not possible with machining, casting or molding. Parmatech has recently announced a partnership with HP in launching the HP Metal Jet 3D printing system with the goal of continuing Parmatech’s pioneering spirit of developing cutting edge metal fabrication technologies. POSITION SUMMARY: The primary responsibility of the Project Engineer is project, product or process, management using new and/or existing technologies, processes or materials. Also responsible for product qualification, process planning and implementation, quality planning, work instructions and assisting with sustaining engineering.

ACCOUNTABILITIES: The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.

 Responsible for all aspects of Project Management including but not limited to identify project scope; generates and maintains flow charts, project plans, schedules, identifies, investigates, resolves, and tracks project risks, setting up meetings, agendas, minutes, and follow-up.

 Process concept generation and implementation

 Provides supportive tooling as required

 Establish, modify, implement, optimize, and monitor systems, processes and procedures to improve and provide timely and efficient workflow

 Investigate and solve problems, create and monitor tests, implement and monitor product/project improvements

 Perform engineering changes conforming to internal quality requirements

 Creates, maintains, and revises Engineering Documents and Work Instructions as required

 Customer and vendor interaction including provide engineering help to customers and vendors as required as well as understand and communicate customer expectations to appropriate team members.

 Preparation of product specifications for manufacturing and quality assurance

 Works with production on smooth product manufacturing start-up.

 Trains all supervisory personnel in the proper use and operation of engineering documents and/or tooling as required

 Directly interface with production for manufacturing and problem solving

 Performs other duties as assigned.

IDEAL EXPERIENCE: The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering environment and able to demonstrate solid experience with the following:

 Project Management Skills

 Proven Customer Service Skills

 New Product Introduction (NPI)

COMPETENCIES:

 Excellent written and verbal communication

 Ability to work with cross functional teams

 Statistical analysis

QUALIFICATIONS:

 Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience related environment.

 Minimum 5 years’ experience as Product/Project Engineer

 Proficient computer skills MS Office, CAD software, use of inspection equipment and methods.

 Good understanding of metals forming technologies

 Ability to manage priorities and workflow

 Commitment to excellence and high standards

 Creative, flexible, and innovative team player.

 Solid English language skills both written and oral

 Solid understanding of statistical methods and GD&T

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, and percentages. Experience in statistical analysis. READING SKILLS: Ability to read, write and comprehend materials in English.

REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply 'common sense' understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. The employee is required to collect, interpret, and/or analyze complex data and information

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will spend a majority of the time in an office environment. A small percentage of work time will be spent on the production floor where temperatures may be warm in the summer months and cool in the winter months where the noise level can be moderate.

The employee may be required to travel <20% annually.

Employees are responsible for wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for the job.
