Job description
Vaco Richmond is hiring for a Remote Credential Coordinator for a local Richmond company. This position is responsible for the credentialing for all clinicians on the medial team of the company.
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate the collection of applications and pertinent documentation from healthcare providers, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Conduct thorough evaluations of credentialing data to verify qualifications and credentials, flagging any discrepancies or incomplete submissions.
- Facilitate the timely processing of credentialing and privileging applications, including follow-up on outstanding documentation and communication with stakeholders.
- Maintain meticulous records of credentialing activities and ensure adherence to confidentiality protocols.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external agencies to obtain necessary verifications and endorsements for credentialing purposes.
- Assist in the development and implementation of credentialing policies, procedures, and best practices to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
- Stay abreast of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards related to credentialing, incorporating updates into organizational practices as needed.
- Provide support to healthcare providers and internal staff regarding credentialing inquiries and requests for information.
- Participate in committee meetings and quality improvement initiatives related to credentialing and privileging processes.
- Contribute to the overall success of the credentialing department by assisting with special projects and initiatives as assigned.
Required Skills:
- Minimum of 3 years of prior credentialing experience within a hospital or managed care setting
Preferred Experience:
- Five (5) years of credentialing experience in a healthcare environment.
- Familiarity with credentialing software, preferably MSOW or Credential Stream.
- Comprehensive understanding of privileging and profiles within a healthcare context.
- Previous exposure to JCAHO, URAC, and NCQA guidelines.
- Certification as a Certified Professional in Medical Services Management (CPMSM).
