Mesa seeks an experienced Sr Transmission Line Engineer with the following skills, knowledge, and abilities:
- Ability to identify, analyze, and solve the more difficult technical problems related to the specialty area.
- Possess an aptitude for computing and design.
- Possess good verbal and written communication skills.
- Possess good interpersonal skills to build relationships and work effectively in a team environment.
- Possess a willingness to accept responsibility for the technical adequacy of all output.
- Possess working knowledge of computers and software such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, and software used for specific technical applications within the department.
- Possess willingness to develop, promote, and comply with Mesa safety requirements
Education/Exprience/Certifications:
- Senior-level engineering position requiring a four-year technical degree in engineering
- a minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience.
- Professional registration is desirable for this position.
Work Environment/Conditions:
- Normal office environment with occasional field trips to plant sites requiring the ability to walk and climb stairs or ladders in a plant or industrial environment occasionally requiring occasional overnight (or longer) stays.
Responsibilities:
- Works under the direction of Principal Engineers and Engineering Managers.
- As a fully competent Engineer, independently evaluates, selects, and applies engineering principles and practices relevant to the project requirements.
- Works with the Engineering Manager and Project Manager to define project objectives, prepare design estimates, and define project requirements and design approaches for large or complex projects.
- Capable of acting as Lead Engineer on single-discipline projects or smaller multi-discipline projects, responsible for determining design approach and working with the design team to prepare required design documents (e.g., drawings, specifications, calculations, etc.).
- Responsible for conceptualizing the initial design approach for a major phase of a large project, or have overall responsibility for the engineering work on a routine project.
- Exercises judgment in the independent evaluation selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Capable of preparing and verifying calculations using engineering formulas and skills or application-specific software as required.
- Manages personal task assignments, and for designated projects manages assignments of other design team members to ensure adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
- Must be capable of directing project design teams comprised of engineers, designers, and technicians on a single project.
- Monitors project execution milestones and schedules to ensure projects are completed on schedule.
- Performs technical and coordination checking/ review of deliverables and other project documents. Ensures deliverables comply with Business Unit procedures and meet applicable design requirements.
- Follows up on construction issues with design staff to resolve problems and concerns promptly.
- Supervision of less experienced engineers or technical support personnel is exercised on an assignment basis and is not an ongoing substantial component at this level.
- Identifies conflicting design or schedule requirements and generates Project Deviation Notices in a timely fashion
- May make project-level decisions on assigned projects.

Experience:
- A minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in TL engineering.
- Proficient in utilizing PLS-CADD (SAPS, Steel, Wood, Tower), AutoCAD, and Excel software.
