Job description
Our client is a midsize Gov Con seeking a Project Accountant to join their team. This role will be responsible for billing and project accounting administration of an assigned portfolio.
This is a permanent, direct hire opportunity. Candidates should be located near the Northern VA area for a hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Contract review for project set-up and invoicing, creating and maintaining Work Breakdown Structure, review of Estimates to Complete and reconciliation of project financial data for contractual compliance and against unbilled balances
- Prepare and submit monthly client invoices for all projects within assigned portfolio, ensuring invoices are billed accurately and consistently within award requirements and on a timely basis.
- Follow up on overdue AR balances and ensure that MSI’s clients are fully satisfied with each project’s invoicing.
- Review and process monthly international field accounting activity utilizing Oracle, Excel, and QuickBooks
- Perform required monthly project reconciliations (site, bank, petty cash, advances, and miscellaneous other)
- Train and assist field staff in ensuring the implementation of corporate procedures and standard accounting practices
- Assist in contract closeouts
- Prepare indirect rate variance invoices in accordance with Negotiated Indirect Cost Rate Agreement
- Research and resolve billing issues with external and internal clients
- Maintain company’s billing files
- Perform monthly general ledger review and account reconciliations
- Perform audit support for internal and external clients
