Job description
The Identity and Access Management (IAM) Manager is responsible for the planning, development, delivery, and operational support of the IAM program. The IAM Manager will lead a team of identity professional staff and outsourced developers and service providers. The IAM Manager will lead customer-centric daily operations by coordinating with Keck Medicine departments, IT security teams, front-line IT support, IT infrastructure, Data Warehouse and Clinical and Business IT teams. This role will ensure the performance of digital identity services, systems, and infrastructure meets the strategic demands of Keck Medicine of USC, while also enforcing the information security policies of the organization.
Essential Duties:
- Manages and develops the IAM staff that are responsible for day-to-day IAM functions, including operational and project obligations and assignments.
- Leads day-to-day IAM support activities including identity onboarding and offboarding, user access requests, user access reviews, customer service issues, escalations, and incident handling. Delivers status updates to IT leadership on current metrics, issues, and project updates.
- Understands enterprise business and information technology management processes to achieve strategic organizational objectives. Interacts with key Keck departments and leaders to learn of opportunities to develop and mature IAM operations. Co-leads the design, planning, testing and execution of IAM process improvements and solutions.
- Manages and monitors the effectiveness of third-party vendors and service providers responsible for IAM system configuration and development.
- Champions and aligns IAM processes across the organization and develops and documents standards for organizational use. Works with internal marketing and communication resources to help promote IAM initiatives.
- Responsible for the monitoring, measuring, performance, availability, security, recovery, and throughput of IAM services.
- Oversees the operational integrity of IAM tools, systems, and infrastructure, including technical or process changes that could impact IAM services.
- Ensure IAM services comply with information security policies, standards, and procedures. Initiates user access review to ensure compliance with access policies.
- Other duties as assigned by CISO and Director of Information Security.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
- 5 years Experience of information technology (IT) demonstrating progressive responsibility, with at least 3 years in identity and access management (IAM) operations and engineering (i.e., identity lifecycle, access requests, user access reviews, privileged access management).
- Strong understanding of identity management principles including directory schema, directory services, replication technologies, resource utilization, authentication technologies and application development. Strong understanding of information security concepts.
- Familiarity with Java, Python, PowerShell, and SQL. Strong data analytical skills using Excel and Access.
- Proven customer-oriented ability to deliver IT services in a complex environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree
- Certification in Certified Identity and Access Manager (CIAM)
Required Licenses/Certifications:
- Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)
The annual base salary range for this position is $110,240.00 - $181,896.00.
