Abile Group has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Linux Engineer supporting an Intelligence Community Customer in Lorton, VA. As a Linux Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Linux environments. You will play a crucial role in optimizing performance, ensuring high availability, and supporting Linux technologies to meet customer requirements on both classified and unclassified networks.

The right candidate will possess the below skills and qualifications and be ready to handle all responsibilities independently and professionally.

• Manages, configures, and maintains Linux servers and systems in various environments (on-premises and cloud).
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain infrastructure solutions.
• Develops and maintains automation scripts (Python, Bash, etc.) to streamline deployment and maintenance processes.
• Monitors system performance, diagnose issues, and implement solutions to ensure optimal system reliability and uptime.
• Performs security audits and implement necessary measures to safeguard systems and data.
• Stays up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve systems and processes.
• Responsible for creating and maintaining detailed documentation of operational procedures.
• Applies DISA STIGs and resolution of security vulnerabilities.
• Available for on-call support and virtualization engineering expertise when operational issues or outages are escalated (as necessary).

Clearance Required: TS/SCI 

Degree and Years of Experience: BS degree and at least 2 years of prior relevant experience; additional experience in lieu of degree accepted.

Desired Certifications:

• RHCE
• IAT Level II baseline certification as defined by DoD 8570.01

Required Skills:

• Proven experience as a Linux Engineer or similar role.
• Proficiency in RHEL system administration
• Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, Perl, etc.) for automation and task simplification.
• Familiarity with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc.).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, etc.).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
