Mechanical Design Engineer - Southlake, TX Goal(s) of this Position Design mechanical devices in conjunction with a multidisciplinary engineering team. Design new products and make improvements to existing products. Evaluate existing products, parts, or processes for cost efficiency, reliability, and product enhancements. Tasks and Responsibilities Mechanical Design Engineer I • Designing and developing products, equipment, and systems • Evaluating products, parts, or processes • Work within a Quality Management System • Protocol and report writing. • Excellent verbal and technical writing skills • Material selection • Experience in CAD tools • BOM generation • Experience with MS Office • Drawing Creation • 0 - 4 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering • Education: BSME or equivalent Mechanical Design Engineer II In addition to Mechanical Design Engineer I Responsibilities • Device modeling • Understanding of EMI/EMC principles and design • Experience in SolidWorks • Familiar with a variety of electromechanical design concepts, practices, and procedures • Thermal analysis, design, and testing • Apply complex design practices and procedures to assigned product portfolio in areas such as sheet metal design/fabrication, injection mold part design, motion and drive systems, soft tooling processes (sheet metal stamping/fabrication, tig/mig/spot welding) and machine design. • Work independently and with a team of mechanical engineers to provide complete mechanical direction, technical expertise, coordination, and control of the activities necessary to design, document, fabricate, debug, and test both disposable and durable products. • Experience in DFx • Experience in the creation of Engineering Drawings and best practices (i.e. ASME Y14 Standards), along with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) • 4 - 7 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering • Education: BSME or equivalent, MSME preferred Mechanical Design Engineer III In addition to Mechanical Design Engineer II Responsibilities • Strong background in product design and experience through the entire design cycle. • Understanding of customer requirements and how to decompose them into the mechanical requirements for the design and testing • Proficiency with a variety of design concepts, practices, and procedures • Working with the account sales teams, and per the strategic business directives, interact with customers, seek and translate requirements into business cases • 7 -10 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering • Education: BSME or equivalent, MSME preferred Senior Mechanical Design Engineer In addition to Mechanical Design Engineer III Responsibilities • Excellent analytical thinking skills • Take ownership and accountability of complex engineering projects, planning, scheduling, executing programs, tracking and reporting progress to senior management • Lead Design Teams • 10+ years of experience in engineering of complex mechanical products • Education: BSME or equivalent, MSME preferred
