Job description
Danzer Veneer Americas, a hardwood veneer manufacturer and a leader in the fine hardwood veneer industry has an opening for a Part-Time Accountant located in Edinburgh, IN. This position will be responsible for maintaining sound internal controls, accounting principles, and procedures to insure accurate and timely financial statements. The position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities and will report to the Accounting Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs:
- The Part-Time Accountant will participate in all month end close activities
- Assist in preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports
- Verify and assist with various accounts payable postings and reporting
- Assist with various inventory postings and analysis
- Assist in preparing various budget and forecast schedules
- Preparing annual 1099 filings
- Assist with financial, tax, and bank audits
- The Part-Time Accountant will serve as backup for payroll processing
- Assist with various projects
- Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
- Other duties mat be assigned to meet business needs
Experience:
- Associates or Bachelor degree in Accounting Preferred
- 2 to 3 years progressive accounting experience
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Proficient computer skills – especially in accounting systems and Microsoft office
- SAP experience a Plus
- ADP experience a Plus
- Proven ability to review and analyze data
- Ability to meet deadlines and function as a team play
- Accuracy and strict attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to perform multiple tasks at once in order to satisfy various information requests.
Hours worked per week will be 20 hours, but some weeks may vary at times.
Salary will commensurate with experience, but the standard range is $17-$20 per hour.
