Coordinator of Content & Scheduling Gies Academic Programs Job Summary Supports course scheduling for Gies' online programs and contributes to product research for the entire portfolio of Gies' academic programs.
Duties & Responsibilities - Curriculum and Program Research Support
- Assist in the development of research on curriculum, trends, and opportunities for content and educational portfolio expansion.
- Conduct research to inform curriculum development and content strategy decisions, identify gaps in existing curriculum, and propose enhancement in support of the Educational Portfolio Associate Manager.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in higher education and business education to ensure curriculum relevance.
- Draft reports summarizing findings from curriculum research, providing actionable insights and recommendations for course revision and new content development.
- Support the management of internal program content development proposals.
- Course Scheduling & Administration
- Create the proposed academic year schedule and submit it for review incorporating new offerings and revised schedules as determined by the Director of Content and Educational Portfolio Strategy.
- Coordinate with schedulers in the academic departments to enter course schedule information (courses, registration restrictions, sections, enrollment limits) into the Banner system and revise the information, as necessary.
- Develop initial live session schedules for all iDegrees courses.
- Along with the Educational Portfolio Associate Manager, proof and revise information for the Course Catalog and Program of Study Catalog each year.
- Administrative Support
- Communicate course schedules, instructional team information, and other key data broadly to the Graduate Programs and Teaching & Learning teams.
- Maintain internal records including instructors and course team assignments, live session schedules, and enrollments.
- Update online course repositories to ensure accurate and timely information is shared with prospective and current students.
- Enter and maintain curriculum maps for Gies' academic programs in collaboration with accreditation staff.
- Assist the Director of Content and Educational Portfolio and Strategy and the Educational Portfolio Associate Manager in formulating data-informed approaches to managing course scheduling and content proposals.
Specialty Factors - Bachelor's degree.
- A total of two (2) years (24 months) in education, training and/or work experience in course scheduling, curriculum research, or a related field. (Note: Master's Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience.) Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience with campus information systems such as Banner.
- Broad knowledge of curriculum planning, academic curiosity about a wide range of business-related topics, and an ability to support data informed decisions through research and data collection and review. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities effectively
- Excellent research, communication, and writing skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- A service-oriented attitude working with faculty and staff.
- Working knowledge of computer related databases and office-related software.
- Working knowledge of the University of Illinois.
Appointment Information This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5002 - Program Coordinator position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the close of the search. Salary will be commensurate with experience, with the base salary starting at $55,000.
