ITA is seeking a Technical Recruiter to join the team in Newport News, VA. This position is hybrid.
ITA is seeking a Technical Recruiter to play a pivotal role in identifying, attracting, and hiring top talent to support the organization's government contracts and projects. This position involves collaborating with hiring managers, understanding technical requirements, and ensuring compliance with government regulations throughout the recruitment process.
- Job Analysis and Requirements Gathering
- Work closely with hiring managers to understand technical staffing needs for ITA's government customers.
- Conduct job analyses and intake meetings to determine key qualifications, skills, and experience required for each position
- Sourcing
- Utilize various sourcing methods, including job boards, social media, networking, employee referrals, industry specific job boards, and industry events, to identify and attract qualified candidates.
- Proactively build a pipeline of potential candidates to meet current and future staffing needs.
- Compliance and Government Regulations
- Stay current on government contracting regulations and compliance requirements related to staffing and recruitment.
- Ensure that recruitment processes adhere to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) guidelines, affirmative action plans, and OFCCP regulations.
- Screening and Evaluation
- Review resumes, conduct initial pre-screenings, and assess candidate qualifications compared to contract requirements.
- Coordinate interviews in collaboration with hiring managers and technical teams.
- Collaboration with Hiring Managers
- Partner with hiring managers to understand project requirements, team dynamics, and specific technical skill sets needed.
- Provide guidance on market trends, salary ranges, and other factors influencing the hiring process.
- Build and maintain a strong rapport with all managers by providing consistent communication and updates.
- Candidate Experience
- Ensure a positive and professional candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
- Communicate effectively with candidates, providing timely updates and feedback.
- Offer Negotiation and Pre-Hire Coordination
- Manage the offer process including clearance checks, reference checks, salary recommendations, drafting of offer letter, extending offer, and offer negotiation.
- Collaborate with HR, security, and onboarding teams to ensure a smooth transition for new hires.
- Data Management
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records in the applicant tracking system (ATS)
- Update Microsoft Planner and SharePoint in accordance with ITA's Recruiting procedures
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communication Studies, Psychology, or a related field.
- Skilled at creating Boolean searches to identify qualified talent.
- Familiarity with technical skill sets (e.g., engineering, IT, cybersecurity, software engineering, data analytics).
- 3+ years proven experience as a Technical Recruiter, preferably in the government contracting or aerospace/defense industry.
- Knowledge of government contracting regulations, security clearance requirements, and compliance standards.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS), iCIMS preferred.
- Knowledge of various recruiting tools: ClearanceJobs, Linkedin, Indeed, CareerBuilder and other Social Media tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, Planner).
