Position Details:
Hartford HealthCare is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant for a specialized high-volume endocrine surgery practice in New Britain, CT. The ideal candidate will possess a keen interest in thyroid and parathyroid disease with ideally a minimum of 1 year of surgical operative experience, but not absolutely required. The position requires initial consultation, follow up, and postoperative visits in the office. In office procedures including ultrasound guided FNA of thyroid nodules. The candidate will spend 1-3 days a week as first assist in the operating room. The remaining days will be in the office with a typical patient volume of 10-12 patients per clinic day. Administrative time is provided. Covering the practice call is optional with option for increased compensation.
Role : Open to Physician Assistants (PA)
Location : HOCC Cancer Center, HOCC, and Hartford Hospital
Setting : Multi-specialty outpatient office and operative time at the hospital
Schedule: 40-hour work week with option to work 4 days
Call schedule : No call required but optional

Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants Role Scope:
Under established guidelines and in collaboration and/or supervision with the practice physician(s), Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants perform routine physical examinations, and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients.
In consultation with the physician(s) and care team members, Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants develop plans for further evaluation of health needs, e.g., referral to other health team members or specialists.
Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants provide appropriate treatment for problems within the scope of the provider’s practice as designated by protocols and identifies problems outside of their scope of practice and refers appropriately to physician.
