We are looking for a talented HVAC & Building Maintenance Technician to join our team for our location in Troy, MI.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Services, supports, and maintains HVAC equipment within the determined geographic location.
Performs HVAC and mechanical systems preventative maintenance on equipment.
Performs activities under minimal supervision.
Assist with Projects and General Maintenance within the facility/campus
This position is for a detail-oriented HVAC & Building Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair HVAC systems.
The technician will be skilled in repairs to all areas of climate control systems, including diagnostics and repairs/replace to all components, boilers, chillers, spring cleaning, adjusting and repairing systems and fall shutdowns.
You will be responsible for these systems from installation to end-of-life by performing preventive maintenance and emergency repairs.
This position will not be limited to just HVAC.
When needed, you will also be required to assist the team on the daily operations of building and grounds including electrical systems, plumbing, other mechanical systems, access control, and fire and life safety systems.
You will work with the maintenance team to ensure operational safety and efficiency of all building systems.
Maintaining and repairing ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment
Identifying maintenance risks on equipment
Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems
Cleaning, adjusting, and repairing systems, and performing warranty services
Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently
Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions
Ensuring compliance with EPA and Occupational Health and Safety Act
Complying with service standards, work instructions and customers' requirements
Assisting with customers' queries
MEP and facilities maintenance
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
Must meet the minimum educational requirements upon completion of an apprenticeship or regional training program. Must pass all related testing.
Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience
To be successful in this role, safety and customer satisfaction should be your top priority. Ideal candidates will be patient and have excellent organizational and troubleshooting skills.
5 year service experience as an HVAC technician
Valid driver’s license
EPA 608 Universal Certification
Proficient with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and building controls systems
Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating
Working knowledge of boiler systems
Proficient in balancing air and water treatment systems in line with HVAC protocols
Good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
Proficient in reading schematics and work plans
Physical Requirements
Ability to occasionally lift 50 pounds or more
Ability to occasionally work at heights with proper safety gear
Frequent walking or standing, often for extended periods
Ability to work 1st Shift: M - F, 8 AM – 4:30 PM (Flexible)
Capable of working extended hours when business needs demand
Need to be available for rotating on-call schedule
2 week on-call rotation, once every 8 weeks.
Pay starting at $36.06/HR or higher, based on experience level
