Job description
Midwestern Mechanical is looking for a Payroll Administrator to join our team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who is organized and motivated to ensure accuracy in payroll processing.
The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for performing the payroll function in the accounting system and ensure compliance with current regulations. This includes managing annual W-2s, quarterly payroll filings, and other payroll-related activities. This includes oversight of timesheets, deductions, and other payroll-related activity. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and experience with an accounting system.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for preparing, entering, and reconciling all payroll data in company's database
• Keeps up to date with local, state and federal regulations and laws related to payroll
• Ensures compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements related to payroll
• Reviews and verifies accuracy of payroll data, including time and attendance records
• Ensures timely payment of all payroll-related taxes, including withholding, FICA, and Medicare
• Coordinates, reviews, and monitors restrictions and statutory requirements on employee benefit plans
• Assists in the preparation of reports, spreadsheets, queries, and analyses related to HR/payroll processes
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• 2 years of experience in payroll related activities or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience with an accounting system
• Knowledge of basic payroll systems
• Excellent communication skills both verbally and in written form
• Strong problem solving skills and great attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment and work independently
• Proficient in Microsoft office and related software
