Software Design Engineer III to work in Troy, Michigan

In the automotive industry, conduct analysis of internal design specifications created by the Engineering teams to ensure feasibility, completeness, and correctness. Lead the development of the overall software architecture and interface design. Create and update software design documents adhering to established development process to ensure proper and efficient software design. Develop state diagrams, block diagrams, and sequence diagrams to illustrate the software structure at higher and lower levels. Provide technical leadership on all aspects of embedded software development. Evaluate and recommend 3rd party software components for integration into the system. Conceptualize, develop, debug, and test embedded software for automotive instrument cluster and HUD systems. Perform quality assurance checks to assure that software code follows MISRA. Lead joint activities with the internal teams to diagnose root causes of issues and implement corrective actions for system issues. Review and approve software work products created by peers to ensure completeness and correctness and advise on necessary changes. Develop ways to integrate 3rd party software components into the system. Evaluate new technologies. Lead RFQ activities related to software architecture, design, and resource estimation. Research, recommend and select new tools and processes to improve software quality and productivity. Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Automotive Engineering (or equivalent based on evaluation of academic credentials, training and/or experience) as well as twelve (12) months in job or job related experience in the automotive industry to include, job duties listed above.
